About WTC Moscow

JSC World Trade Center (MICEX: WTCM, ЦМТ) was registered on 16 September 1992 (it was called JSC Sovincenter prior to 2000). The Company is the legal successor of the Center for International Trade and Scientific and Technical Cooperation with Foreign Countries opened in 1980. Since its foundation and until now, the WTC is one of Russia’s largest multifunctional centers, which provides hotel, congress and exhibition services, offers apartments and offices for rent, and is capable to deliver a wide range of business services.

The 265,300-square meter architectural ensemble is located on a 7-ha site in the very center of Moscow, on the banks of the Moskva River, in close vicinity to government buildings and the Moscow City complex. Three office buildings, a congress center, the five-star Crowne Plaza Hotel, including an exclusive club building, the Mezhdunarodnaya-2 apartment hotel, an automated multi-level car park and top-class restaurants — all those facilities offer the WTC’s clients and guests services at the best world quality standards. The quality is evidenced by certificates of a host of international organizations of which Moscow’s WTC is a member, such as WTCA, ICCA, AIPC, Russian Union of Exhibitions and Fairs.

2015
The WTC Crowne Plaza Moscow is recognized at the World Travel Awards event as the leading conference hotel in Russia.

For the fourth time the World Trade Center has been selected to host an annual press conference of President of the Russian Federation V.V. Putin.

Putin, the President of Russia, has signed the Decree On the Perpetuation of E.M. Primakov Memory. In 2002 Evgenii Maksimovich organized the Mercury Club discussion platform and headed it later as a president.

The World Trade Center hosts a permanent exhibition dedicated to the 35 anniversary of the complex. The exhibition demonstrates journalists’ photographs of the most striking events, portraits of influential guests as well as the world map with our partners from the World Trade Centers Association.

The World Trade Center’s Wedding to Come project has received the Golden Puzzle national award for the most ambitious wedding.

The WTS Wedding to Come Sky for Two project has won the Best Wedding of the Year nomination at the Global Event Awards held amongst the best event-agencies of the CIS countries.

The Wedding Awards (Russia’s main wedding award), organised by the Wedding magazine, recognised the World Trade Center as the city's best venue for weddings.
2014
March — The Crowne Plaza Moscow WTC Hotel passed the annual performance evaluation of InterContinental Hotels Group with excellence, reiterating its Elite title in terms of guest service quality.

April — The Crowne Plaza Moscow WTC Hotel was nominated for World Travel Awards as 2014 Russia’s Leading Business Hotel.

May — The Crowne Plaza Moscow WTC Hotel was awarded another Quality Certificate by TripAdvisor, an independent web portal on travel.
2013
The Crowne Plaza Hotel won a prize from World Travel Awards as 2013 Russia’s Leading Business Hotel.

WTC’s Congress Center was bestowed a Russian Business Travel & MICE Award, a professional prize, in the “Russia’s Best Congress Center” nomination.
The WTC became a winner of the 2013 National Tax Prize and was bestowed a “Dutiful Taxpayer” title.

January — The Crowne Plaza Moscow WTC Hotel was honored as one of Russia’s best luxury segment hotels, according to TripAdvisor, a leading independent web portal on travel.

April — Vladimir Salamatov, General Director of the World Trade Center Moscow, and Eric Dahl, Chief Executive Officer of the World Trade Centers Association, signed April 21, 2013 an updated license agreement between the WTC and the WTCA.

May — The Crowne Plaza Moscow WTC Hotel got a Quality Certificate from TripAdvisor, a leading independent web portal on travel.

December — The Crowne Plaza Moscow WTC Hotel was bestowed a prize of InterContinental Hotels Group for the Best Marketing Contribution and Excellence in Service.

The WTC Moscow joined the Anti-Corruption Charter of Russian businesses.
2012
The Cabinet of Ministers of the Russian Federation issued Resolution No. 485 dated May 16, 2012, to bestow on the WTC a 2011 award of the Government of the Russian Federation for considerable achievements in product and service quality and for using the best practices and highly efficient quality management techniques.

July — the WTC sets up the International Business Center “Russia in the WTO.”
2011
The World Trade Center won a prize as Moscow’s best employer.

The Club Building of the Crowne Plaza Moscow World Trade Centre was opened.

The WTC won a prize of the Oxford Summit of the Europe Business Assembly as Europe’s best enterprise.

The WTC Congress Center won a Russian Business Travel & MICE Award, a professional prize, in the “Moscow’s Best Congress Center” nomination.
2010
The WTC was a winner of the international award “Leaders of Economic Development” in the “Best Enterprise of 2010” nomination.

January — Office Building #3 was opened.

September — The WTC Congress Center was bestowed a Russian Business Travel & MICE Award in the “Moscow’s Best Congress Center” nomination.
2007
The WTC joins InterContinental Hotels Group, a major international hotel chain. The Mezhdunarodnaya Hotel was renovated and reopened under the Crowne Plaza brand.
2004
The WTC was honored with Golden Mercury, a National Entrepreneurship Prize, in the special nomination “For contribution made in the building of a positive business image of the Russian Federation.”
2003
December — Office Building #2 was opened.
2002
Mercury Club, an elite club presided by Academician Yevgeny Primakov, Chairman of the Commerce and Industry Chamber of the Russian Federation, was founded.
2001
The Mezhdunarodnaya Hotel of ОАО WTC was bestowed Guiding Star 2001, a professional award for achievements in the tourist sector, as the best hotel preserving Russian traditions of service.

The WTC Congress Center was certified according to AIPC standards.
2000
The company joined the Guild of Exhibition and Fair Organizations of the Moscow Commerce and Industry Chamber.

May — the company was renamed into OJSC World Trade Center (OJSC WTC).
1998
The WTC received a certificate attesting compliance of the service quality with the WTCA’s standards.
1995
The WTC joined the Russian Union of Exhibitions and Trade Fairs.
1992
September 16 — the center was transformed into a joint stock company.
1991
The WTC joined the International Association of Convention Centres (AIPC).
1990
The WTC joined the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA).
1979
November 28 — Resolution No. 2612р of the Council of Ministers of the USSR established Sovincenter, an all-Union commercial association.
1975
September 1 — a groundbreaking ceremony for the Center of International Trade and Academic and Technical Relations with Foreign Countries.
1974
The WTC Moscow was admitted as a full-fledged member of the World Trade Centers Association.
1973
