Committee on Economic Integration of the Countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and of the Commonwealth of Independent States (Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation)
The Committee on Economic Integration of the Countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) of the Russian Federation, operates on a pro-bono basis, under the leadership of the CCI Management Board. The Committee is tasked with important challenges, including intensification of interregional contacts across the Commonwealth, promotion of interests of Russian businesses in CIS and SCO markets, involvement in discussion and development of proposals concerning resolution of issues related to labor migration, cross-border and interregional cooperation with the nations of the region.
The Committee arranges interaction between public institutions and the parties directly involved in international economic activities — all in the interests of promoting mutual trade, enhancing production efficiency, carrying out structural transformations in the economies of SCO and CIS member nations, building a uniform informational space.
Acting in conjunction with commerce and industry chambers of SCO and CIS member nations, the SCO Business Council, CIS executive bodies, and Russia’s Economic Development Ministry, the Committee takes part in expert evaluation of projects and regulations governing international economic activities, which are currently in effect, in design and implementation of mutually beneficial forms of cooperation in various fields, in drafting proposals on organization of and participation in forums, workshops and round-table discussions on matters related to economic integration of SCO and CIS countries.
